Nichola Renton-Weir Nichola Renton-Weir, Director (plays Emma, a young lawyer)

Nichola Renton-Weir received her Honours in Theatre and Drama Studies from Murdoch University in 1999 and since then she has been actively and passionately involved in the performing arts industry in Western Australia, where she works as an actor, director and dramaturge. She has represented WA in the International Rose of Tralee Competition in Ireland, toured nationally and internationally in David Williamson’s play FACE TO FACE, toured some of the most beautiful wineries in WA with Essential Theatre’s Shakespeare in the Vines; 2006-Midsummer Night’s Dream, 2007-Much Ado About Nothing and 2008-Romeo and Juliet. And more recently, performed in Spontaneous Insanity’s sell-out Summer and Winter Season of TheatreSports alongside some of Australia’s finest comedians. The core of her directing experience has as Creative Director with The Actors Workshop, a WA based drama school, a position she has held since graduating. She is thrilled to be involved with FancyFare, fabulous food mixed with great entertainment, where everyone gets there ‘Just Desserts”.  

James Gill aka Fish James 'Fish' Gill (plays Michael, the loved up lawyer smittened by Emma)

When he’s not pretending to be someone else, James ‘Fish’ Gill writes music, facilitates creative thinking and drama workshops, and is a father of two.
He usually has the ‘Fish of the Day’.
Natalie Ryan-Brand

Natalie Ryan-Brand (plays Associate Professor Marylyn Peters)

Natalie has been performing in Perth for many years and has appeared in theatre productions of “The Daphne Massacre”, “Salome”, “The Three Sisters”, “I Remember Mama”, “Billy Liar” and others and was most recently seen in “Keeping Abreast” a monologue she wrote and devised for The 2010 Solo Spots at The Blue Room. She has worked on several television series, numerous short films and TV commercials and is well known for her role as the lady who gets 30 minutes of exercise dancing to the Wiggles in the “Find 30” commercial. Natalie is also an accomplished voice over artist and can be heard narrating books, documentaries and voicing for websites, TV and radio advertisements, along with an excessive amount of telephone “on hold” messages. When you phone for a taxi, it’s Natalie you abuse for asking all those inane questions! She is also a TV presenter and writer for lifestyle programs that appear on Channel 9 and Aurora and teaches the voice unit of the Screen Acting Diploma at the Film and Television Institute in Fremantle.

Ian Toyne Ian Hoyne (Professor Nigel Hardwick)

Ian is a guest tutor for John Curtin College of the Arts and in collaboration with Paul Peacock has written and co-directed Sometime with Sondheim, The Vanishing Kingdom, Lily’s Round and Knock ‘Em Dead whilst there. The college also presented his shows Overture! Hit The Lights! and My Alien Generation, which he wrote and directed.

Maggie Wilde-West (plays Marj)

Award winning actor Maggie Wilde West, brings her wonderful comedic talents to the role of Marge, farmer Stan’s long suffering wife. Maggie has had a long and distinguished career as an actor in theatre, film, television and radio, both in Australia and New York. She also writes and directs. Maggie holds the rather daunting record of having played seventy eight original characters Australia wide, during her twelve year stint as a corporate comedian. She is currently the Director of Vocal Ensemble Voiceworks.

You may remember Maggie as Olga Horlach in “Drink Drink Drink” for Bond Brewing, or as Dr. Penelope Wise in “Prophet Margins Unlimited” for the WA Institute of Chartered Accountants. You may have seen her “Waltz(ing) Through The Hills” with Ernie Dingo or you may have heard her in the animated series “Ginger Meggs as the voice of the irrepressible Ginger. You may have checked her out when she was a TV presenter on Chanel 7, or you may never have heard of her before but one thing’s for sure, you’ll never forget her in her ‘delicious’ role as poor old Marge, in Fancy Fare.

Andrew Renton Andrew Renton (the confused waiter)

Andrew trained at Kaff theatre in 1993 before commencing a Communications/Film and Television Degree at Murdoch University. Since graduating in 1998, he has been actively involved in the media industry both behind and in front of the camera. He performs and directs local theatre and is a teacher in stage-combat, musical theatre and Screen Acting.
